250 TPH crushing and screening plant in Dhandhuka, Gujarat
Road and building projects need a steady supply of correctly graded aggregate: sub-base material, several sizes of crushed stone and manufactured sand, all from one site. This plant turns quarried rock into eight separate products, using four Mechtech machines.
Overview
One line, eight products
The Dhandhuka installation takes raw material from the quarry, reduces it in stages, sorts it by size, and delivers finished aggregates and M-sand ready for use, at a rated 250 tonnes per hour.
It's designed to handle a wide range of materials, from hard, abrasive rock to softer aggregates, which gives the operator flexibility as quarry conditions change. Mechtech Inframine supplied the plant's core crushing and screening equipment, each machine built at Mechtech's manufacturing facility in Vadodara, Gujarat.
- High-volume throughputProcess material at 250 TPH for large-scale aggregate supply.
- A broad product rangeRoad-building materials, graded stone and manufactured sand from a single line.
- Product qualityWell-shaped aggregates with consistent size distribution for concrete, asphalt and road layers.
Process
Each machine does one clear job.
The plant follows a staged crushing and screening design. Splitting the work this way means no single machine is pushed beyond its role, and the operator can switch between products by adjusting the screening and crushing stages rather than running separate lines.
-
Primary crushing
MTJ 118 jaw crusher
A heavy-duty jaw crusher with a large feed opening. It breaks down raw quarry material such as blasted rock by pressing it between a fixed and a moving jaw plate.
-
Secondary and tertiary crushing
MTC 3000 cone crusher
Rock is squeezed between an eccentrically rotating mantle and a fixed concave, producing finer, more uniform particles with good shape and size distribution.
-
Screening
MVS1850 IIID vibrating screen
An inclined triple-deck screen, each deck with a different aperture. Smaller particles pass to the lower decks, and oversize is sent back for further crushing.
-
Sand production and shaping
MTV 17 VSI
A vertical shaft impactor throws material at high speed against anvils and impact plates, producing cubical particles and M-sand, and cutting flaky and elongated pieces.
Output
What the plant produces
| Product | Typical use |
|---|---|
| GSB (Granular Sub-Base) | Base layer in road construction |
| WMM (Wet Mix Macadam) | Road base course |
| 63 mm aggregate | Construction and road work |
| 40 mm aggregate | Construction and road work |
| 20 mm aggregate | Concrete and building work |
| 10 mm aggregate | Concrete and building work |
| 6 mm aggregate | Fine aggregate applications |
| M-sand | Replacement for river sand in concrete and mortar |
That gives the operator one source for materials that would otherwise often come from several suppliers.

Why it matters
India's road and infrastructure programmes depend on reliable aggregate supply. GSB and WMM are core materials for road bases, and graded stone is used across concrete and building work.
M-sand is especially relevant. As restrictions on river sand mining tighten in many regions, manufactured sand gives contractors a consistent, controllable alternative. A plant that produces M-sand alongside road-building aggregates lets an operator serve several markets from one quarry.
Frequently asked questions
What does 250 TPH mean?
TPH stands for tonnes per hour. A 250 TPH plant is rated to process 250 tonnes of material every hour.
What products does this plant produce?
It produces GSB, WMM, 63 mm, 40 mm, 20 mm, 10 mm and 6 mm aggregates, and manufactured sand (M-sand).
What is the role of the VSI crusher in this plant?
The MTV 17 VSI produces M-sand and improves particle shape. It creates cubical particles and reduces flaky and elongated pieces, which is important for concrete and asphalt quality.
What are GSB and WMM?
GSB (Granular Sub-Base) and WMM (Wet Mix Macadam) are graded aggregate mixes used in the lower layers of road construction. They provide a stable, load-bearing foundation beneath the road surface.
Can this type of plant process different rock types?
Yes. The plant is designed to handle a wide range of materials, from hard and abrasive rock to softer aggregates.
