Mlit LED mobile light towers and battery power stations
Night shifts, remote pits and early-stage sites share a common problem: work needs to continue after dark, often before permanent power is in place. The Mlit range covers both light and power, with LED light towers, site and crane floodlights, and LiFePO4 battery power stations.
Overview
One source for temporary lighting and portable power
Rather than relying on diesel generators, the towers run on mains power or integrated batteries.
They're built around LED optics, compact transport dimensions and a patented mast safety system, for construction, mining, rail and industrial operations. The range is available through MT&T, which has worked with companies that build, maintain and operate facilities and infrastructure since 1974.
Mobile light towers
Four formats, from a battery tower that needs no power connection to a professional 7-metre tower for rental fleets and large sites. Coverage is the area lit to at least 5 lux.

MLT 3.8
A battery tower for railway maintenance, emergency response, construction and mining. It accepts single or double battery packs, so you can choose between lighter weight and longer runtime.
MLT 4
Turns on-site containers or a concrete base into a lighting platform. Interchangeable plates allow side or top mounting, one person can assemble it, and it runs from direct AC or as a stand-alone system.
MLT 5
Folds down to 358 × 427 × 1,200 mm, small enough to carry in a car. Fold-out, fully rotating light heads and puncture-proof all-terrain tyres, with an average of 39 lux across its coverage area.
MLT 7
Built for rental fleets and larger sites, with forklift pockets, a crane hook, a jockey wheel and adjustable handles. Two units fit on a Euro pallet and 64 on a single trailer, cutting haulage and depot storage.
Floodlights
Site and crane lighting
Floodlights for temporary installations, rated IP66 and IK08, with IP67 plug-and-play connectors. A panel connector passes power on to the next fixture, so runs can be daisy-chained.
MLT K2
Three sizes from 21,100 to 86,800 lumens, nine optics options, and a choice of 3000K, 4000K or 6000K colour temperature.
MLT K2 crane version
Adds auto-levelling, so the fixture adjusts itself as the crane jib is raised and the light stays pointed at the ground.
MLT Brick
Designed to replace metal halide lamps on existing light towers, with a vibration-resistant bracket and efficiency above 160 lm/W. Upgrade the tower instead of replacing it.
Smart control
Daylight sensing, astro-timer and motion-sensing control, plus Casambi and Plejd wireless systems.
Portable power
MPower battery power stations
The MPS3 and MPS6 store energy in prismatic LiFePO4 (lithium iron phosphate) cells and supply AC power through a built-in inverter, for sites where grid access is limited.
| MPS3 | MPS6 | |
|---|---|---|
| Battery | 51.2 V, 60 Ah | 51.2 V, 120 Ah |
| Inverter, continuous | 3,000 W | 5,000 W |
| Inverter, peak | 6,000 W | 10,000 W |
| Output voltage | 100–240 VAC | 100–240 VAC |
| Weight | About 47 kg | About 60 kg |
- IP54 rating with forced air cooling
- Rated for 1,800 cycles at 0.5C
- Full charge in around four hours
- Battery management system with overcharge, over-discharge, over-current, short-circuit and temperature protection
Features
Light the work area, not the sky.
The MLT 7, MLT 4 and site floodlights use ultra-asymmetric "dark sky" optics. Conventional floodlights spill light upward and create glare. These project light forward and down.
The manufacturer states this puts up to 59% more light on the ground than typical floodlights, with no direct upward light when fixtures face the ground. Near highways, rail lines or housing, that means less glare for drivers and fewer complaints from neighbours.
Safety built into the mast
The MLT 5 and MLT 7 use a patented Triple Drop Prevention system. On the MLT 7 it combines five individual wires with protection covers, an auto-pin that engages when the mast is fully raised, and a drop prevention arrestor. The MLT 5 uses individual wires, automatic stopping while raising and lowering, and drop prevention. Both are rated for 30 m/s wind.
Control and efficiency
Every tower has a twist-and-swap NEMA socket for lighting control modules, daylight sensing, manual on/off, and a night mode that cuts output to save energy and limit disruption. Remote control, dimming and scheduling are available, and towers can be linked to share one supply: up to three MLT 5s or two MLT 7s.
Built for harsh conditions
Towers operate from –30°C to +45°C, with IP65 lighting, an IP54 chassis and IK08 impact resistance. Housings have a UV-stabilised powder coat, and the LEDs are rated L80 B50 for more than 100,000 hours.
Modular as your site develops
Move between mobile towers, container-mounted masts and fixed floodlights as a project grows, link towers to a single supply, or retrofit existing towers with MLT Brick fixtures instead of replacing them.
Why it matters
Why lighting and power matter on site
For project owners and fleet operators, lighting and temporary power are more than site overheads. They affect productivity on night shifts, worker safety, fuel budgets and a project's relationship with its neighbours.
As emission and noise expectations on construction and mining sites keep tightening, equipment that cuts fuel handling, directs light precisely and moves efficiently between projects gives operators more control over cost and compliance.
- Lower energy use: 48,000–168,000 lumens from 300–1,200 W
- Quiet, fuel-free operation for night work near homes
- Less light pollution and glare through asymmetric optics and night mode
- Safer mast handling with Triple Drop Prevention
- Lower logistics costs through compact, dense transport
- Minimal maintenance with LEDs rated beyond 100,000 hours
Frequently asked questions
Do Mlit light towers run on diesel?
No. The MLT 4, MLT 5 and MLT 7 run on mains AC through a CEE 230V input. The MLT 3.8 runs on integrated rechargeable battery packs.
How long does the MLT 3.8 run on battery power?
Runtime depends on the output setting and on whether one or two battery packs are fitted.
| Output | Lumens | Single pack | Double pack |
|---|---|---|---|
| 100% | 48,000 lm | 1.5 hours | 3 hours |
| 50% | 24,000 lm | 3 hours | 6 hours |
| 25% | 12,000 lm | 6 hours | 12 hours |
| 10% | 4,800 lm | 15 hours | 30 hours |
Can several towers share one power source?
Yes. Up to three MLT 5 units, or two MLT 7 units, can be linked from a single power source.
Can existing light towers be upgraded to LED?
Yes. The MLT Brick floodlights are designed to replace metal halide lamps on existing light towers.
What is the difference between the MPS3 and MPS6?
The MPS3 has a 60 Ah pack (3,072 Wh) and a 3,000 W inverter, and weighs about 47 kg. The MPS6 has a 120 Ah pack and a 5,000 W inverter, and weighs about 60 kg. Both use LiFePO4 chemistry and fully charge in around four hours.
